The patchwork summer holidays 2026 took place in our second home on Mallorca.
We spent the time adjusting and adapting to having a place we also call home away from home.
The weather was amazing, and very warm.
Playing golf and cycling was only possible in the early hours of the day.
Johanne spent most of our holiday in the pool.
I was working the first week, and the second week was all about designing activities to stimulate the majority of the group!
Our new home in Santa Maria is in the heart of Mallorca with a glance of the Tramontana mountains to the left and the valley vineyards just laid out in front of us. Besides indulging in all the things that summer holidays give us: time, sunshine, memories, we also tried to make sure that there is enough time spent doing nothing.
And I am happy to report that I actually read two whole books during this break. It took a lot of courage to simply grab my book to sit there and do nothing!
We love our children, and traveling with them is changing as they grow up, however, there are seldom romantic moments when most of the children are adult-like. Nonetheless, you can never win back this time, and so we make the most of it.
